We’ve got three awesome winners for The Thirteenth Summer Photo Contest! They did a fantastic job of capturing the spirit of the book on film.

And here’s a picture of Maya with her prize, a Daisy Rock Girl Guitar! This one makes me smile every time I look at it. Maya is on the right, and that’s her little sister Rena on the left, with her guitar. (Yep, that’s Rena wearing the boots in Maya’s winning photograph—Rena gets major sister points for helping Maya win!) Move over, Jonas Brothers, I sense another family rock group in the making!

You’ve heard of book tours, right? Usually, book tours mean that an author travels around the country talking about their book, but this was a whole new kind of book tour. I sent The Thirteenth Summer—the book itself—on tour! Fifty teens around the U.S. received copies of the book, but they only got to keep them for 7 days before the book had to hit the road again… To find out more about the book tour, click here.
